The Portland Timbers compete in MLS as a member club of the league's Western Conference. The Timbers biggest rivals are the Seattle Sounders and Vancouver Whitecaps FC, who all compete in the Cascadia Cup. The Timbers have appeared in the MLS final 3 times and have come out with their 1 and only MLS championship in 2015 whe they beat Columbus Crew in the finals. Some important and influential past and current Timbers players include Jack Jewsbury, Diego Valeri, Diego Chara, Dairon Asprilla, Sebastián Blanco, Eryk Williamson, Darlington Nagbe, & Fanendo Adi.
